Ingredients

  • Large shrimp, peeled and deveined1.5 lbs
  • Linguine12 oz
  • Unsalted butter1/2 cup
  • Olive oil1/4 cup
  • Garlic, minced6 cloves
  • Dry white wine1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice1/4 cup
  • Fresh parsley, chopped1/4 cup
  • Red pepper flakes1/4 tsp
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste

Steps

  1. 1

Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

  2. 2

While pasta cooks, pat shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

In a large skillet, melt butter with olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. 4

Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Do not overcook.

  5. 5

Pour in white wine and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

  6. 6

Add the drained linguine and chopped parsley to the skillet. Toss to coat the pasta and shrimp in the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.

  7. 7

Season with additional salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.
