Ingredients

  • Black beans1 can (15 oz)
  • White rice1 cup uncooked
  • Water2 cups
  • Cooking oil2 tbsp
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Black pepper1/2 tsp
  • Chili powder1 tsp
  • Cumin1/2 tsp

Steps

    Cook the white rice according to package directions in a saucepan.

    Drain and rinse the black beans. In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp of cooking oil over medium heat. Add the beans, salt, black pepper, chili powder, and cumin. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    In a separate bowl, combine the cooked rice with 1 tbsp of cooking oil and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to coat.

    Assemble the bowls: Place a portion of the seasoned rice in the bottom of each bowl. Top with the spicy black bean mixture. Serve warm.
