
Classic Russian Salad (Salat Olivye)

A quintessential Russian salad, often served during holidays and celebrations. It's a hearty and flavorful mix of diced boiled vegetables, meat, pickles, and eggs, bound together with mayonnaise.

- Green Peas (frozen or canned)1 cup
- Dill Pickles3-4 medium
- Cooked Chicken Breast or Ham200g
- Hard-Boiled Eggs4 large
- Mayonnaise1 cup

Boil potatoes and carrots until tender. Let them cool completely, then peel and dice into small, uniform cubes (about 0.5 cm).

If using frozen peas, cook them briefly until tender and drain. If using canned, drain them well.

Dice the dill pickles into small cubes.

Dice the cooked chicken or ham into small cubes.

Peel and dice the hard-boiled eggs into small cubes.

In a large bowl, combine the diced potatoes, carrots, peas, pickles, chicken/ham, and eggs.

Add mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Gently mix everything until well combined, being careful not to mash the ingredients.
