A simplified version of the traditional dish, this quick lapad s oriz uses pre-cooked rice or a faster-cooking variety, and omits the egg-yogurt tempering for a simpler preparation, while still retaining the tangy sorrel flavor.

- Pre-cooked rice400g
- Garlic2 cloves
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water100ml
- Fresh parsleyfor garnish

Wash and finely chop the sorrel leaves.

Mince the garlic cloves.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the chopped sorrel and sauté for 3-5 minutes until wilted.

Add the pre-cooked rice and water to the pan. Stir well to combine and heat through for about 5-7 minutes.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
