Ingredients
- Fresh lemons6
- Granulated sugar1 cup
- Cold water4 cups

Wash and zest 2 of the lemons. Juice all 6 lemons.

In a saucepan, combine lemon zest and sugar. Add 1 cup of water. Heat gently, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to create a simple syrup. Remove from heat and let it cool.

Strain the simple syrup to remove the zest.

In a pitcher, combine the strained simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and the remaining 3 cups of cold water. Stir well.

Chill the lemonade thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices or mint if desired.
