  • Fresh chives, chopped (for garnish)2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook wide egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, melt 5 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add finely chopped shallots and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.

Sprinkle flour over the shallots and garlic, stirring to combine. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Stir in the diced smoked turkey and 1 cup of the shredded smoked Gouda cheese, plus the grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  7. 7

Add the drained egg noodles to the sauce and toss to coat evenly.

  8. 8

Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

  9. 9

Top evenly with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded smoked Gouda cheese.

  10. 10

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the casserole is heated through.

  11. 11

Let stand for 5 minutes before garnishing with fresh chives and serving.
