A simplified version of the classic Zagorski štrukli, using store-bought puff pastry for a faster preparation, while retaining the traditional cottage cheese filling and creamy baked finish.

- Fresh cottage cheese (skuta)400g

- Sour cream50g
- Heavy cream150ml
- Butter30g
- Salt1/2 tsp
- Black pepperpinch

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

For the filling: Combine cottage cheese, egg, sour cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl.

Unroll the puff pastry sheet. Spread the filling evenly over the pastry.

Roll up the pastry tightly and cut into 5-7 cm slices.

Place the slices cut-side up in a greased baking dish.

Whisk together heavy cream and melted butter. Pour over the štrukli.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
