- Baking powder1 tsp
- Sugar1 tbsp
- Salt1/4 tsp
- Vegetable oil for frying500ml
- Honey or jam for serving (optional)to taste

In a bowl, whisk together milk, egg, sugar, and salt.

Add flour and baking powder to the wet ingredients. Mix until just combined, do not overmix. The batter should be thick but pourable.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 170-180°C (340-350°F).

Using a spoon, drop dollops of batter into the hot oil.

Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and puffed.

Remove the uštipci with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
