- lemon juice1 tbsp
- butter2 tbsp
- egg, beaten1

Thaw puff pastry according to package directions.

Peel, core, and dice apples. In a saucepan, combine apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, butter, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender, about 10-15 minutes. Let cool slightly.

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Unroll one puff pastry sheet and place it in a greased baking dish (approx. 9x13 inch).

Spread the cooked apple filling evenly over the pastry.

Cover with the second puff pastry sheet. Crimp edges to seal. Brush the top with beaten egg.
