Clean and slice the mushrooms. Finely chop the onion and garlic.

In a large pot, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the pot and cook until they release their liquid and start to brown, about 10-15 minutes.

Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir well, cooking for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

Gradually whisk in the vegetable broth, ensuring no lumps form. Bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat and let the soup simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

Carefully transfer about half of the soup to a blender (or use an immersion blender) and blend until smooth. Return the blended soup to the pot.

Stir in the heavy cream. Heat gently but do not boil.
