Finely chop onion and mince garlic.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in jarred tomato sauce and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.

Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and cook for at least 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing flavors to meld.
