- Spaghetti, cooked1 lb
- Shredded cheddar cheese (for topping)optional

- Kidney beans, cooked (for topping)optional

In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the finely chopped onion over medium-high heat. Drain off excess fat.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Stir in tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Pour in the beef broth. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf.

Simmer uncovered for another 15-20 minutes to thicken slightly.

Serve the chili over cooked spaghetti. Top with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, or kidney beans as desired ('ways').
