- Onions400 g
- Garlic3 cloves
- Sweet paprika3 tbsp
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Beef broth400 ml
- Dried plums (prunes)150 g
- Red wine vinegar1 tbsp
- Bay leaf1
- Vegetable oil3 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Cut beef into 2-3 cm cubes. Season with salt and pepper.

Finely chop onions and mince garlic.

Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium-high heat. Brown the beef cubes in batches.

Add onions and sauté until softened and golden.

Stir in garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Remove from heat, stir in sweet paprika and tomato paste. Return to low heat.

Add beef broth, red wine vinegar, and bay leaf. Return beef to the pot.

Add dried plums. Add enough water to just cover the ingredients.

Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 2-2.5 hours, or until beef is very tender. Stir occasionally.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove bay leaf.
