- Rice (Beras Siam or similar)3 cups
- Coconut milk1.5 cups
- Water1.5 cups
- Fenugreek seeds (Halba)1 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Fish curry paste (store-bought)4 tbsp
- Fish (e.g., mackerel or snapper)400g
- Tamarind paste1 tbsp
- Mixed vegetables for acar (cucumber, carrot)1.5 cups
- Vinegar3 tbsp
- Sugar1 tbsp
- Hard-boiled eggs4

Wash rice and drain. Combine rice, coconut milk, water, fenugreek seeds, and salt in a pot or rice cooker. Cook until done.

In a separate pan, heat a little oil. Sauté the fish curry paste until fragrant.

Add fish pieces and tamarind paste. Add a little water if needed. Simmer until fish is cooked.

Prepare acar: Dice vegetables. Mix with vinegar, sugar, and salt. Let sit for 15 minutes.
