- Chicken pieces1 kg
- Coconut milk400 ml
- Pre-ground chili paste (sambal tumis)3-4 tbsp
- Lemongrass1 stalk
- Turmeric powder1 tsp
- Asam keping (dried tamarind slices)1
- Saltto taste
- Water50 ml

Bruise the lemongrass stalk and add it to a pot with chicken pieces, coconut milk, water, and pre-ground chili paste.

Stir in turmeric powder and asam keping. Bring to a simmer.

Cook for 20-25 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the sauce has slightly thickened. Stir occasionally.

Season with salt to taste. Remove lemongrass stalk before serving. Serve hot.
