  • Shredded coconut75g
  • Sugar100g
  • Vegetable oil30ml
  • Salt1/2 tsp
  • Wateras needed
  • Food-grade banana leaf extract or green food coloring1 tsp

    Prepare the mung bean filling as in the traditional recipe: steam, mash, and stir-fry with coconut, sugar, and oil until dry.

    In a bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, black sesame paste, and food coloring/extract. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth, dark dough.

    Divide the filling and dough into equal portions. Shape the dough around the filling to create small, round cakes.

    Steam the cakes for 20-25 minutes until cooked through. Let cool slightly before serving.
