In a bowl, mash the farmer's cheese until smooth. Add the egg, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft, pliable dough forms. Be careful not to overmix.

Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut into small crescent shapes (balerynky).

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the balerynky into the boiling water.

Cook for 3-5 minutes after they float to the surface, or until cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon.

While the balerynky are cooking, prepare the nut sauce: finely chop or grind the walnuts. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.

Add the ground walnuts, milk, sugar, and cinnamon to the saucepan. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Serve the hot balerynky immediately, generously drizzled with the warm nut sauce. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
