- Quick-cooking dried peas400g
- Diced ham or bacon150g
- Onion1 medium
- Garlic2 cloves
- Vegetable broth750ml
- Olive oil1 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Rinse the quick-cooking dried peas.

In a pot, heat olive oil and sauté the diced ham/bacon until lightly browned. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, cook until softened.

Add the rinsed peas and vegetable broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until peas are tender.

Stir occasionally, adding more broth or water if the stew becomes too thick.
