Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Cook bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside, reserving 1 tablespoon of bacon fat. Crumble the bacon.

Boil broccoli in salted water until tender-crisp. Drain well.

In a saucepan, melt butter with reserved bacon fat over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

Pour in heavy cream, add a pinch of nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Grate kashkaval cheese. Reserve half for topping.

Combine broccoli with the cream sauce in the saucepan. Stir in half of the grated cheese and half of the crumbled bacon.

Transfer to an oven-safe dish. Top with remaining cheese and bacon.
