  • Brown sugar1 tbsp
  • Cinnamon1/4 tsp
  • Salt1/4 tsp
  • All-purpose flour30g (for dusting)
  • Caramel saucefor serving
  • Toasted slivered almondsfor serving

    Peel, core, and finely dice the apple. Melt butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add diced apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until apples are tender and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Let cool.

    In a bowl, mash the tvorog. Add egg, salt, and the cooled caramelized apples. Mix well.

    Gradually add semolina and flour, mixing until a soft dough forms.

    Lightly flour a surface. Take small portions of dough and roll them into ropes or small balls.

    Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    Carefully add the lokumki to the boiling water in batches.

    Boil for 6-8 minutes after they float, until cooked through.

    Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
