- Smoked Hungarian sausage (kolbász), sliced200 g
- Onions, chopped2 large
- Garlic, minced3 cloves
- Sweet Hungarian paprika2.5 tbsp
- Smoked paprika1 tsp
- Beef broth1.2 liters
- Potatoes, cubed400 g
- Carrots, sliced1 large
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Lard or vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Fresh marjoram (for garnish)optional

Heat lard or oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown the beef cubes.

Remove beef. Add chopped onions and sauté until softened. Add sliced smoked sausage and cook for a few minutes until lightly browned.

Stir in minced garlic, sweet paprika, smoked paprika, and tomato paste. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Return beef to the pot. Pour in beef broth, scraping the bottom.

Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 1 hour until beef starts to tenderize.

Add cubed potatoes and sliced carrots. Season with salt and pepper.

Continue to simmer, covered, for another 40-50 minutes, or until beef and vegetables are tender.
