- Sour cabbage leaves10-12 large
- Ground pork200g
- Ground beef100g
- Rice75g
- Onion1/2 medium
- Tomato paste2 tbsp
- Paprika1 tsp
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Vegetable oil1 tbsp
- Water or broth500ml
- Fresh parsleyfor garnish

Finely chop the onion and sauté in vegetable oil until soft.

Cook the rice according to package directions until al dente. Drain.

In a bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, cooked rice, sautéed onion, tomato paste, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Prepare the cabbage leaves as in the traditional recipe, removing tough ribs.

Fill and roll the cabbage leaves with the meat mixture.

Arrange the sarmi in a pot or casserole dish. Pour over water or broth mixed with a little extra tomato paste if desired.

Cover and simmer on the stovetop or bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 60-75 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender and the filling is cooked through.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
