Ingredients
- Chicken breast tenders1.5 lbs
- All-purpose flour1 cup
- Eggs2 large
- Breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)1.5 cups
- Paprika1 tsp
- Garlic powder1 tsp
- Onion powder1 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Black pepper0.5 tsp
- Vegetable oil (for frying)3 cups
Steps
- 1
Prepare the chicken: Trim any excess fat from the chicken tenders. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Set up the breading station: In three shallow dishes, place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- 3
Bread the chicken: Dredge each chicken tender first in the flour, shaking off excess. Then dip into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off. Finally, coat thoroughly with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- 4
Heat the oil: In a large, heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure accuracy.
- 5
Fry the chicken: Carefully place a few breaded chicken tenders into the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C).
- 6
Drain and serve: Remove the cooked tenders from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on a wire rack set over a baking sheet to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
