Ingredients
- Russet potatoes2 lbs
- Unsalted butter1/2 cup
- Whole milk1/2 cup

Peel and quarter the potatoes.

Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a generous pinch of salt.

Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender.

Return potatoes to the pot and mash them using a potato masher or ricer until mostly smooth.

Gently heat the milk and butter in a small saucepan until butter is melted. Do not boil.
