Steps

    Pressure cook toor dal until mushy. Mash and set aside.

    In a pot, combine chopped vegetables, onion, tomato, sambar powder, turmeric powder, salt, and enough water to cover. Cook until vegetables are tender.

    Add the cooked dal to the vegetable mixture. Mix well and simmer for 5 minutes.

    Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once mustard seeds splutter, pour the tempering over the sambar.
