A simplified version of Vanilin Kiflice, using fewer ingredients and a slightly quicker method, while still capturing the essence of vanilla and a tender crumb.

- Unsalted butter, cold and cubed125g
- Granulated sugar75g
- Vanilla sugar1 sachet (approx. 8g)
- Egg1
- Baking powder1/2 tsp
- Salt1 pinch

In a bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Add the egg and mix until a dough just comes together. Do not overwork.

Shape the dough into small crescent shapes. You can also chill the dough for 15 minutes if it's too soft to handle.

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Place the kiflice on the prepared baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.

Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
