Prepare the dough as per the Traditional Mađarica recipe. Divide, roll thinly, prick, and bake until golden and crisp. Let cool.

For the walnut cream: Melt dark chocolate. In a bowl, combine ground walnuts, softened butter, powdered sugar (if using instead of some cream), and vanilla extract. Gradually mix in melted chocolate and heavy cream until a smooth, thick cream forms. Adjust consistency with more cream or chocolate as needed.

Assemble the cake: Spread the chocolate-walnut cream between the baked pastry layers. Ensure an even layer on top and sides.
