Prepare the ham as described in the Traditional recipe (Steps 1-3).

While the ham is cooking, prepare the horseradish sauce: peel and grate horseradish, mix with sour cream, season with salt and pepper.

Prepare the apple relish: peel, core, and dice the apples. Combine diced apples in a saucepan with sugar, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, and cloves.

Cook the apple mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender but still hold their shape (about 10-15 minutes). Let cool.

Once the ham is cooked, remove from pot, rest for 10-15 minutes, then slice.

Serve the sliced ham with the horseradish sauce and the apple relish on the side.
