- 1
In a large bowl, combine ground beef and lamb. Add minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and baking soda.
- 2
Gradually add sparkling water while mixing the meat mixture thoroughly with your hands. Knead for at least 10-15 minutes until the mixture is very sticky and well-combined.
- 3
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and the mixture to firm up.
- 4
Remove the meat mixture from the refrigerator. Shape it into small, finger-sized sausages (about 8-10 cm long and 2 cm thick).
- 5
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates.
- 6
Grill the ćevapčići for about 8-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are nicely browned and cooked through with a slightly crispy exterior.
- 7
While the ćevapčići are grilling, warm the flatbreads on the grill for the last minute or two.
- 8
Serve the hot ćevapčići immediately with warm flatbread, finely chopped white onions, and a side of kajmak or ajvar.
