- Squid500g
- Pre-made Sambal Paste3-4 tbsp
- Onion (sliced)1/2
- Garlic (minced)2 cloves
- Tamarind paste1 tsp
- Sugar1 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Cooking oil2 tbsp
- Water2 tbsp
- Spring onions (chopped, for garnish)1 tbsp

Clean and cut the squid into rings. Marinate with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Heat cooking oil in a wok or pan over medium-high heat. Sauté minced garlic and sliced onion until fragrant.

Add the pre-made sambal paste and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.

Stir in tamarind paste, sugar, and salt. Add water and bring to a simmer.

Add the squid rings and stir-fry quickly until just cooked through. Avoid overcooking.
