- Tamarind Paste3 tbsp
- Water400 ml
- Red Chilies2, finely chopped
- Garlic2 cloves, minced
- Lime Juice1.5 tbsp
- Sugar1/2 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Cilantrochopped, for garnish

Clean the cockles thoroughly. Discard any open or damaged ones.

In a pot, mix tamarind paste with 400 ml of water. Stir until dissolved.

Add the minced garlic and chopped red chilies to the tamarind water. Bring to a simmer for 2 minutes.

Add the cleaned cockles. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes, until they open. Discard any unopened clams.

Stir in lime juice, sugar, and salt. Adjust seasoning.
