- Beef (flank or round)400g
- Soy sauce3 tbsp
- Brown sugar2 tbsp
- Garlic powder1 tsp
- Coriander powder1 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water50ml
- Cooking oilfor frying
- Chili paste (sambal oelek or similar)2 tbsp

Slice beef thinly against the grain.

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, coriander powder, salt, pepper, and water. Mix well.

Add the beef slices to the marinade and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Heat cooking oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the marinated beef slices in batches until cooked through and slightly crispy.

Remove beef from the pan, leaving some oil. Add the chili paste to the pan and stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.

Return the fried beef to the pan. Add any remaining marinade. Stir-fry quickly until the sauce thickens and coats the beef.
