- Midin (fern shoots)500g
- Belacan (shrimp paste)1 tbsp
- Garlic3 cloves
- Red chilies2
- Dried shrimp2 tbsp
- Shallots1
- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Calamansi lime1
- Saltto taste
- Water2 tbsp

Soak dried shrimp in warm water for 10 minutes, then drain and roughly chop.

Wash and trim fern shoots. Blanch in boiling water for 1 minute, drain.

Pound or blend belacan, garlic, shallots, and red chilies into a paste.

Heat oil in a wok. Add the belacan paste and stir-fry until fragrant.

Add chopped dried shrimp and stir-fry for 1 minute until slightly crispy.

Add blanched fern shoots and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes.

Add water if needed, season with salt. Squeeze calamansi lime juice over the dish just before serving.
