Bahan

  • Cassava (tapioca root)1 kg
  • Banana leaves4 large
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Wateras needed

Langkah

  1. 1

Peel and thoroughly wash the cassava. Cut into manageable pieces.

  2. 2

Boil the cassava pieces in water until very tender, about 30-40 minutes. Drain well.

  3. 3

While the cassava is still hot, mash it until smooth. You can use a mortar and pestle or a food processor.

  4. 4

Season the mashed cassava with salt and mix well.

  5. 5

Prepare the banana leaves by wiping them clean and lightly wilting them over a low flame or hot water to make them pliable.

  6. 6

Place a portion of the mashed cassava onto a banana leaf. Shape it into a flat rectangle or disc.

  7. 7

Fold the banana leaf to enclose the cassava completely, creating a neat parcel. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.

  8. 8

Steam the parcels over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes, or until the linopot is firm and heated through.

  9. 9

Serve hot, unwrapped from the banana leaf.
