- Fish sauce1 tablespoon
- Sugar1 teaspoon

Peel the unripe mangoes and shred them finely using a grater or a julienne peeler. Place in a large bowl.

Finely chop the shallots and red chilies. If using dried shrimp, pound them into a paste.

Add the chopped shallots, chilies, dried shrimp paste (if using), and toasted grated coconut to the shredded mango.

In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Season with salt to taste.
