A simplified version of the traditional Karipap Pusing, this recipe uses store-bought puff pastry to achieve the flaky layers with less effort, while retaining the classic savory potato and chicken filling.

- Store-bought puff pastry sheets2 sheets
- Chicken breast, diced150g
- Potatoes, diced150g
- Onion, chopped1/2 medium
- Garlic, minced1 clove
- Curry powder1.5 tbsp
- Vegetable oil1 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Egg wash (for glazing)1 egg

Prepare the filling: Sauté onions and garlic in vegetable oil. Add chicken and cook until browned. Stir in curry powder. Add diced potatoes, salt, and pepper. Add a little water and simmer until potatoes are tender and the mixture is thick. Let cool.

Prepare the pastry: Thaw puff pastry sheets. Roll them out slightly if needed. Spread a thin layer of softened butter over one sheet. Place the second sheet on top. Roll it up tightly like a Swiss roll. Chill for 15 minutes.

Cut and shape: Slice the rolled pastry into 1-inch thick rounds. Flatten each round and roll into a thin circle.

Fill and seal: Place a spoonful of cooled filling onto one half of the pastry circle. Fold the other half over to form a semi-circle. Crimp the edges firmly to seal. Gently twist the edges to create a spiral effect.

Glaze and bake: Brush with egg wash. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed.
