- Lemongrass2 stalks
- Shallots5
- Garlic3 cloves

- Asam keping (dried tamarind slices)2

- Water100 ml

Grind bird's eye chilies, galangal, turmeric root, lemongrass (white part), shallots, and garlic into a fine paste.

In a pot, combine the ground paste, chicken pieces, coconut milk, and water.

Add turmeric leaves and asam keping. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the gravy has thickened, about 30-40 minutes.
