- Young green rice flakes (cốm tươi)200g
- Coconut milk400ml
- Water200ml
- Sugar100g
- Pandan leaves2-3 stalks
- Salt1/4 teaspoon
- Toasted coconut flakes (for garnish)2 tablespoons

Gently rinse the cốm under cold water and drain well. If the cốm is dry, soak it in a little water for 5 minutes, then drain.

Tie the pandan leaves into a knot. In a pot, combine coconut milk, water, sugar, salt, and the knotted pandan leaves. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Do not boil.

Add the prepared cốm to the pot. Cook over low heat, stirring gently, for about 5-7 minutes, or until the cốm is tender and the soup thickens slightly. Remove the pandan leaves.

Ladle the chè cốm into serving bowls. Garnish with toasted coconut flakes.
