- Sour cabbage (kiselo zele)500g
- Pork belly or shoulder300g
- Onion1 large
- Carrot1 large
- Leek1/2
- Dried mint (djodjen)1 tablespoon
- Paprika1 teaspoon
- Black pepperto taste
- Saltto taste
- Water1.5 liters
- Vegetable oil or lard2 tablespoons

Chop the pork into bite-sized pieces. Finely chop the onion, carrot, and leek.

In a large pot, heat the oil or lard over medium heat. Add the pork and brown it on all sides.

Add the chopped onion, carrot, and leek to the pot. Sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.

Roughly chop the sour cabbage. Add it to the pot along with the dried mint and paprika. Stir well.

Pour in the water. Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for at least 1 hour, or until the pork is tender and the cabbage is soft.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. If the soup is too sour, you can add a pinch of sugar.
