  • Dry white wine250 ml
  • Shallots2 medium
  • Garlic3 cloves
  • Butter50 g
  • Fresh parsley1 bunch
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste
  • Water125 ml

    Clean the mussels thoroughly under cold running water, scrubbing the shells and removing any beards.

    Finely chop the shallots and mince the garlic.

    In a large pot or Dutch oven, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped shallots and minced garlic, and sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

    Pour in the dry white wine and water. Bring to a simmer.

    Add the cleaned mussels to the pot. Cover tightly and steam for 5-7 minutes, or until all the mussels have opened. Discard any mussels that remain closed.

    Stir in the chopped fresh parsley. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

    Serve immediately, spooning the broth over the mussels.
