- White cabbage1 kg
- Rice (medium-grain)180 g
- Onion1 large
- Mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)300 g
- Garlic3 cloves
- Vegetable oil3 tbsp
- Smoked paprika1.5 tsp
- Dried thyme1 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Vegetable broth or wateras needed

Chop the cabbage into medium-sized pieces. Slice the mushrooms and mince the garlic.

Dice the onion.

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and tender. Remove mushrooms and set aside.

Add the diced onion to the pot and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic, smoked paprika, and thyme. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the chopped cabbage to the pot. Stir well.

Rinse the rice and add it to the pot along with the cooked mushrooms.

Pour in enough vegetable broth or water to almost cover the ingredients.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 1 hour, or until the cabbage is tender and the rice is fully cooked. Add more liquid if needed.
