- Walnut pieces100g
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)150g
- Butter150g
- Powdered sugar75g
- Vanilla extract1 tsp
- Cocoa powderfor dusting

If using quick meringue, prepare it by whipping egg whites with sugar until stiff peaks form, then gently fold in finely ground walnuts. Bake thin layers as per classic recipe or use store-bought meringue discs.

Melt dark chocolate over a double boiler.

Cream softened butter with powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually beat the melted chocolate into the butter cream. Add vanilla extract.

Assemble the cake: place one meringue layer on a serving plate, spread a layer of chocolate cream, and repeat with the remaining layers. Sprinkle some chopped walnuts between layers if desired.

Frost the entire cake with the remaining chocolate cream.
