  • Raisins1/2 cup
  • Sugar1.25 cups

  • Orange blossom water1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice1 tablespoon
  • Almonds, slivered1/4 cup
  • Mint leavesfor garnish

    Cook wheat berries until tender. Rinse rice and add it to the pot with cooked wheat berries and cooked chickpeas. Add enough water to cover.

    Simmer for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until grains are soft. Add more water if needed.

    Add fresh figs, raisins, sugar, orange zest, orange blossom water, and lemon juice. Stir well.

    Continue to simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pudding thickens. Add slivered almonds in the last 10 minutes.

    Remove from heat. Let it cool slightly.

    Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh fig slices, mint leaves, and a sprinkle of orange zest.
