- Beef (stewing cuts)600g
- Onions2 medium
- Garlic4 cloves
- Potatoes2 medium
- Red Bell Peppers2 large
- Tomatoes (diced)400g
- Lyutenitsa (Bulgarian relish)3 tbsp
- Tomato Paste1 tbsp
- Beef Broth200ml
- Vegetable Oil3 tbsp
- Paprika (sweet)1 tsp
- Chili Flakes1/4 - 1/2 tsp (to taste)
- Black Pepperto taste
- Saltto taste
- Fresh Parsleyfor garnish

Cut beef into 2-3 cm cubes. Season with salt and pepper.

Chop onions and mince garlic. Peel and dice potatoes and red bell peppers into bite-sized pieces.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the beef cubes. Remove and set aside.

Sauté onions until softened. Add garlic, chili flakes, and paprika, cook for 1 minute.

Stir in tomato paste and Lyutenitsa, cook for 1 minute.

Add diced tomatoes, beef broth, potatoes, and bell peppers. Bring to a simmer.

Return beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer covered for 1.5 hours, or until beef is tender.

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Divide the mixture among 4 individual oven-safe ramekins. Ensure they are not filled to the brim.

Cover ramekins with foil or lids. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until heated through and bubbling.
