Ingredients
- Canned tuna, drained1 can (5 oz)
- Mayonnaise1/4 cup
- Celery, finely chopped2 tablespoons
- Red onion, finely chopped1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice1 teaspoon
- Salt1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper1/8 teaspoon
- Bread slices4 slices
- Butter, softened2 tablespoons
- Cheddar cheese, sliced or shredded4 slices or 1/2 cup

In a medium bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, and lemon juice. Mix well.

Season the tuna salad with salt and pepper to taste.

Divide the tuna salad mixture evenly between two slices of bread, spreading it to the edges.

Top each tuna-covered slice with two slices of cheddar cheese.

Place the remaining two slices of bread on top to form sandwiches.

Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the skillet.

Grill for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.

Remove from skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve immediately.
