Steps

  1. 1

Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

  2. 2

In a bowl, toss shrimp with Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  4. 4

Add the seasoned shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.

  5. 5

Reduce heat to medium. Pour heavy cream into the skillet and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

  6. 6

Gradually whisk in grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with additional salt and pepper if needed.

  7. 7

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Add the drained fettuccine to the sauce.

  8. 8

Toss everything together until the pasta and shrimp are well coated. Add reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.

  9. 9

Serve immediately, garnished with chopped green onions and a lemon wedge.
