- Vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Shredded lettuce1 cup
- Diced tomatoes1/2 cup
- Shredded cheddar cheese1/2 cup

Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.

Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.

Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Pour in water and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld.

While the beef simmers, warm the corn tortillas according to package directions (e.g., lightly fry in oil until crisp, or warm on a comal).
