- All-purpose flour1/4 cup

Crumble the pork sausage into a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain off most of the grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the skillet.

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and grease. Stir well and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.

Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring no lumps form. Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring constantly.
