Ingredients
- Whole wheat flour3 cups
- All-purpose flour1 cup
- Baking soda1 teaspoon
- Salt1 teaspoon
- Buttermilk1.75 cups

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.

In a large bowl, whisk together whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Make a well and pour in the buttermilk. Mix until just combined; the dough will be sticky.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape into a round loaf.

Place on baking sheet. Cut a deep cross on top.

Bake for 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C), then reduce heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 30-40 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow.
