
Traditional Zapečeni Zagorski Štrukli

For the dough: Mix flour, egg yolk, oil, salt, and water to form a soft, elastic dough. Knead for about 10 minutes. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.

For the filling: In a bowl, combine cottage cheese, egg, and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper.

Roll out the dough very thinly on a floured surface, almost transparent.

Spread the cottage cheese filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.

Carefully roll up the dough like a strudel. Cut into individual portions (about 5-7 cm wide).

Arrange the štrukli in a greased baking dish.

Pour the heavy cream and melted butter mixture over the štrukli.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
